This paper presents the thermal performance of a single-family house in Florina, northwestern Greece. As the winter thermal performance was analysed in a previous paper by the authors, this paper focuses on the thermal comfort conditions, which prevail in the house during the intermediate seasons (spring and autumn) and during the summer. This is achieved through two different approaches. First, in-situ measurements of the air temperatures were conducted during the year 2005. Second, the thermal analysis of the house is made with the use of the Ecotect software. The analysis of thermal comfort conditions is complemented by the reports of the users of the house. It is believed that the combination and the comparison of the results of the aforementioned approaches will provide an overall, comprehensive assessment of the design strategies, which guided the design of the house. |
