Abstract:
The topic’s approach begins with the determination of the dwelling space; continuously we study the timeline of it through examples offered by the history of architecture, to conclude with how today we are called for a solution to the perpetually unsolved problem of dwelling. A distinction among the total amount the total amount of contemporary examples is based on the analysis of their architectural qualities, associating them with a specific type of user, capable of fully satisfying his demands and everyday needs in this very cell. In addition, the relation of the interior and user with the surrounding space is studied in order to approach the balancing relation of private and public space ownership into distinct levels. In conclusion, within a wider analysis, the pros and cons of living in a limited space are evaluated and design techniques have derived, so as to eliminate these disadvantages.
