heal.abstract	Η κατεύθυνση της ενίσχυσης της κοινωνικής συνοχής, ως αλληλοτροφοδοτούμενη συνιστώσα της ανταγωνιστικότητας, πρωταγωνιστεί τα τελευταία χρόνια στις αστικές πολιτικές που χαράζονται για τα μεγάλα κοινωνικά ζητήματα στα κέντρα των πόλεων. Ο συνδυασμός των δύο αυτών φαινομενικά αντιφατικών εννοιών, έχει εγείρει τον προβληματισμό γύρω από το αν είναι δυνατόν να συμβαδίσουν ή αν εν τέλει οδηγεί σε περαιτέρω όξυνση των χωροκοινωνικών ανισοτήτων. Οι παραπάνω διαδικασίες προσεγγίζονται μέσω της εμβάθυνσης στη μικρο-γεωγραφία, επιλέγοντας ως πεδίο έρευνας το Μεταξουργείο. Μια περιοχή, που οι υπό εξέλιξη μετασχηματισμοί που συντελούνται στη κοινωνική και λειτουργική της δομή, έχουν διαμορφώσει ένα σύνθετο και αντιθετικό κοινωνικό σώμα. Μέσα από τη διερεύνηση των σχέσεων και των διαδικασιών που παράγονται σε αυτή τη συνθήκη, επιχειρείται μια διπλή προσέγγιση των πολιτικών γύρω από το ζήτημα ανισοτήτων-συνοχής· ως προς το ρόλο που έπαιξαν στη διαμόρφωση των σύγχρονων χωρικών και κοινωνικών σχέσεων, αλλά και των νέων κατευθύνσεων που χαράζονται, βάσει αυτών. Η έρευνα υποστηρίζει ότι ως πολιτική επέμβασης στα μεγάλα κοινωνικά ζητήματα της περιοχής επιλέγεται η αναδιάρθρωση, με την προσπάθεια εδραίωσης μιας νέας τάξης μεσαίων και ανώτερων κοινωνικών στρωμάτων. Στην κατεύθυνση αυτή, η «συνοχή» εξυπηρετεί δύο κύριους στόχους. Τη διαχείριση των κοινωνικών ανισοτήτων με τρόπο κερδοφόρο προς την αγορά και ταυτόχρονα, μέσω της διασποράς τους, την εξασφάλιση του κοινωνικού ελέγχου και τη διαχείριση αντιδράσεων ή μη επιθυμητών προς το κράτος κοινωνικών συμπεριφορών, που γεννά η επιλογή της κυριαρχίας της αγοράς, έναντι των ζητημάτων κοινωνικής αναπαραγωγής.	el
heal.abstract	The notion of the strengthening of social cohesion as an interdependent component of competitiveness, plays a leading role lately in the planning of urban policies regarding the accumulation of large social inequalities in the city centres. The combination of these two contradicting elements has raised concerns on whether it is possible for these concepts to coexist or whether such an approach leads in the further amplification of social and spatial disparities? This process is examined here by opting to focus on micro-geography, using the area of Metaxourgeio as a research ground. A neighbourhood where the transformations that take place in its socio-spatial and functional structure, have shaped a complex and contrasting social body. Through the study of relations and the processes that derive from these conditions, a dual approach on the policies around the dipole of inequality - cohesion is attempted; regarding the role that these have played in shaping the contemporary spatial and social relations and at the same time regarding the new strategies that these lead on. This research argues that the intervention policy chosen for the large social issues of the area, is restructuring. Restructuring through the effort to establish a new social order of middle and higher social strata, with a “cohesion” that serves two main goals. The handling of social inequalities in a profitable to the market way and at the same time through their dispersion, the ensuring of social control and the handling of reactions or adverse to the state social behaviours that derive from the choice of the market’s prevalence, instead of issues of social reproduction.	en
