heal.abstract	Σημείο τομής: η Ομόνοια. Πολλά έχουν γραφτεί και σχεδιαστεί για την πιο κεντρική πλατεία της Αθήνας, για πολλούς το σημείο εκκίνησης και διασταύρωσης του κέντρου, για άλλους ο χώρος του Μετρό και για ελάχιστους τόπος καθημερινής κοινωνικής επαφής. Που κρύβεται όμως η γοητεία της συγκεκριμένης πλατείας έτσι ώστε να αποτελεί διαχρονικά το επίκεντρο των συζητήσεων δημόσιου και επιστημονικού λόγου; Ποια είναι τα σύγχρονα δεδομένα που διαμορφώνουν αυτό το αμφιλεγόμενο τοπίο συνάντησης; Πως μπορούν να ερμηνευτούν τα πολλαπλά όρια, χωρικά και κοινωνικά, που αναπτύσσονται στην πλατεία; Αυτά είναι μερικά από τα ερωτήματα που θα απασχολήσουν στην παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία μέσα από μια προσπάθεια αποτύπωσης – ανάγνωσης – και ανάδειξης του τοπίου. Ερμηνεύοντας τις παθογένειες της πλατείας και την τοπιακή της φυσιογνωμία όπως διαμορφώθηκε στο χρόνο, επιχειρείτε η ανάδειξη μιας διαφορετικής αντίληψης για την αστική πλατεία, ως ενεργό συνδετικό κρίκο ανάμεσα στο δομημένο περιβάλλον, δημιουργώντας τις προϋποθέσεις να εκφραστεί αυτή η χωρική συνέχεια και στην ανάπτυξη της κοινωνικής ζωής, μέσα από την εξωστρέφεια, δηλαδή, του χρήστη από τον κλειστό στον υπαίθριο δημόσιο χώρο.	el
heal.abstract	Area of interest: Omonia square. Μany are the things that have been written about Athens' most Central Square and equally numeral are the designs that have been created as well. For some it is the point where downtown begins & intersects. For others it is the underground Railway and for a few, Omonia square is where people meet and socialize on a daily basis. Where does the true charm of this particular square lie? Afterall, it has been the center of public and scientific discourse through the years. Which are the contemporary factors that synthesize this ambiguous meeting place? How could the multiple boundaries, social and territorial, be developed? The above are some of topics that this thesis will explore, through an effort of surveying, reading and designation of the landscape. An attempt to explore the different ways of understanding an urban Square is made by understanding the pathogens of the square, its territorial appearance, as this has been shaped through times. Understanding how the square has played an active role in connecting the structured environment, creating at the same time all the necessary conditions so that the territorial continuity would be expressed in the social development as well. That is the individuals turning from the indoor to the outdoor public rural space.	en
