heal.abstract The given work was prepared in the context of the completion of the postgraduate degree Techno-Economic Systems of the Interuniversity Postgraduate Program, as a result of collaboration between the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens and the Department of Industrial Engineering of University of Piraeus. It includes a description of the Halo Effect and its particular characteristics and effects on the work environment. The aim was to familiarize the reader with the phenomenon, performing, initially, a historical review and description of the term, continued with the methods of locating and "measuring" it, and led to the way in which it affects the Business sector, its consequences and how to separate the real from the apparent Halo. Then, at a theoretical level, the effort to control this phenomenon, the research framework and the evaluation process, the planning methods for its reduction, post hoc and ex ante, its identification in the score and the correlations that arise were analyzed. In addition, we went on to describe the horizontal and vertical management business models with a reference to their differences and to what extent and how the Halo phenomenon appears in the business world, especially in cases of pursuit of the ultimate performance and lasting success. Finally, reference was made to the management of human resources, and, more specifically, to the methods of evaluation and measurement of performance and we concluded how much the halo phenomenon affects modern companies and whether the degree of its presence is affected by the new models of operation and management in them. en
