Hydroculture - ρίχνοντας φως στις αθηναϊκές στοές

Abstract

Το κτήριο που προτείνεται σε αυτή τη διπλωματική είναι ένα κέντρο εκμάθησης αστικής καλλιέργειας στην Κολοκοτρώνη. Επιλέγεται να τοποθετηθεί μέσα στο εμπορικό τρίγωνο λόγω της πολυλειτουργικότητας του κέντρου, των προσβάσεων αλλά και των τοπικών χαρακτηριστικών.Βασικά στοιχεία του σχεδιασμού αποτελούν η στοά(μορφολογικό χαρακτηριστικό της περιοχής), οι εναλλακτικές μέθοδοι αστικής καλλιέργειας(hydroponics,aquaponics) και το φως. Τα δύο κτήρια εμπεριέχουν ένα μαγαζί πώλησης σπόρων, μια αίθουσα έκθεσης και εκμάθησης, ένα εστιατόριο και δύο υπαίθριους χώρους φύτευσης και περιστασιακού παζαριού. Επιπλέον,σχεδιάζεται μία στοά η οποία ενώνει την Κολοκοτρώνη με την Κλειτίου και η οποία στην οροφή της διαπερνάται από οπτικές ίνες που κατεβάζουν φως και μυρωδιές. Στο εσωτερικό του Ο.Τ , στον ακάλυπτο ανοίγονται και οι υπόλοιπες στοές του Ο.Τ μαζί με τα καταστήματα , δημιουργώντας εκεί ένα σημείο συνάντησης και μίξης των υπαρχόντων χρήσεων με τις καινούριες. Ταυτόχρονα το σημείο αυτό αποτελεί το πέρασμα από έναν στενό, σκοτεινό χώρο(στοά) σε έναν φωτισμένο χώρο (ακάλυπτος) ο οποίος στεγάζεται με μία κατασκευή από οπτικές ίνες που παραπέμπει σε φυσικές μορφές σταλακτιτών. Στόχος των χωρικών εναλλαγών καθώς και του φωτός και των οσμών είναι η δημιουργία μιας αισθητηριακής διαδρομής. Τέλος, στο κτήριο τοποθετούνται σωλήνες από Plexiglas, μέσα στους οποίους τρέχει νερό της βροχής με αποτέλεσμα να ψύχεται και να θερμαίνεται ο χώρος ανάλογα με την εποχή. Με κατάλληλο σχεδιασμό ρήσεων το νερό περνάει στα υποστηλώματα και με τη σειρά στην υπόγεια δεξαμενή δημιουργώντας ένα κύκλωμα και τονίζοντας τον σημαντικό ρόλο που παίζει το υδάτινο στοιχείο στον σχεδιασμό του κτηρίου.

This diploma project is about the design of a learning center for urban agriculture. The historical triangle of the centre of Athens is chosen as the area of design due to its diversity and its multifunctional character as well as the accessibility of the area and its local characteristics. The basic element of design are the arcade (stoa – important morphological characteristic of the area), the alternative methods for urban agriculture (hydropronics,aquaponics) an the light. The two buildings designed include a store that sells seeds, two halls for seminars and exhibition, a restaurant and two open spaces for cultivation and occasional markets. Furthermore, an arcade is designed that connects Kolokotroni street to Kleitiou street. At this route the light is channeled through fiber optics located at the ceiling of the arcade. At the internal space of the urban block there is an open space which is transformed into a meeting point for all the arcades of this urban block as well as the stores and bars located there. Through this gesture the existing spaces are merged with the ones designed by this proposal. At the same time this spot marks the transition from an enclosed dark space ( arcade) to a lighted space that is covered by a structure of fiber optics, the morphology of which, refers to natural elements such as stalactites. The point of these spatial transitions through the manipulation of light and smell, is the creation of a sensorial experience. In order to reinforce the importance of the water element in this proposal , tubes of Plexiglas are situated in the interior of the buildings. Their function is to collect water from the upper level and transfer it to the basement , thus creating a circuit that cools the interior space in the summer and warming it in the winter through geothermal methods.
