The propagation of wideband signals through a tropospheric ducting medium is examined analytically. A three layer troposphere on a flat earth model is employed. By considering only the guided modes a channel model is derived for the ducting medium. The performance of a phase shift keying (PSK) system is analyzed in detail. The dependence of the bit error probability on propagation characteristics is examined. |
