A unified study of multidimensional (m-D) stability problems is presented. The major theorems and algebraic tests for checking the various regions of analyticity of m-D systems are reviewed. These include those based on the symmetric matrix approach, the table form, the bilinear continued fraction expansion method, the Lyapunov technique, and the state-space formulation. The majority of the results refer to 2-D systems, but the state space results are also extended to the 3-D case. Several illustrative examples are included. |
